Audition - Day In HistoryAudio - Adobe Audition
Essential Standard - 205 Essential Question: How do you create an audio piece to educate an audience? Objective: Create a natural sound piece that will capture a target audience using Audition, based upon a historical moment or figure. Assignment: You have been hired by History.com to produce 1:00 long audio clips for their site. You will be using Audition to create these natural sound pieces. First you will find five audio clippings from a historical event. (WWi, WWII, Vietnam, a presidential inauguration, Sept. 11th, etc.) You will edit these clippings together to tell the story of the historical event. Also you will find music in Audition that is appropriate to the event. Save the project as an Audition File (.sesx) and export the final project as MP3 files: Last name + first initial + history .mp3 Grading Criteria Checklist 1 - Appropriate historical event is chosen 2 - A minimum of 5 sound clips are used 3 - Voice over has inflection and emphasis so it is not bland or dry 4 - Voice over is appropriate to event 5 - Sound effects added create interest 6 - Music background bed of audio added 7 - Audio levels balanced - sound effects and background audio do not overpower VO 8 - Piece is at least 1:00 in length 9 - Audio file is saved as a Audition file (.sesx) and exported as a MP3 format as instructed 10 - Final audio file is submitted as a MP3 format with the instructed name for the project This project is due on the date outlined in the syllabus. When you complete all work, work on the Xtra Credit projects. |

Audition - Audio Movie TrailerAudio - Audition
Essential Standard - 205 Essential Question: How do you create an audio advertisement for a movie to persuade an audience? Objective: Create an audio advertisement that will utilize a target audience using Adobe Audition software. Assignment: You have been hired as an audio producer by Box Office Studios. They want you to create an audio movie trailer advertisement for a movie in their distribution company. You are to follow the directions given by the project manager for the target audience to complete the project. Once complete then you should review the checklist for grading criteria before turning in your work. Create an audio advertisement for a movie. The ad can be from older movies or new movies that will soon be released. Using Adobe Audition, creatively construct your voice over to draw in your target audience as they will not see any images and must be persuaded to see the movie based on your words and audio effects. You must also include some soundclips from the actors in the movie. Use http://www.moviewavs.com/ or google search the web to find MP3 sound clips. - Your advertisement must be at least :30 in length, but you can go up to 1 minute if you like. - Record the voice over (using your voice) for each commercial. You must add inflection/emphasis so it is not bland. - Incorporate sound clips from the movie using moviewavs.com/other sites - Incorporate sound effects to go along with your movie to add interest. - Add a music bed to go behind the voice over that you create - Must have tag out in VO such as: in theaters now, coming soon to a theater near you, or now available on DVD, Blu-ray, or NetFlix. - Save as MP3 as lastname+firstinitial+trailer Save your completed project in your Audio folder. Save as a Adobe Audition .sesx file and then Export as an MP3 file. Submit the MP3 and save a copy in your portfolio folder. Grading Criteria Checklist 1 - Script written for movie trailer 2 - Script/VO includes tag out of theater near you, coming soon, available on DVD, etc. 3 - Voice over has inflection and emphasis so it is not bland or dry 4 - Voice over recorded is YOUR voice 5 - Sound effects/Movie soundbites added to create interest 6 - Music background audio added 7 - Audio levels balanced - sound effects and background audio do not overpower VO 8 - Trailer is :30 seconds to 1 minute in length 9 - Audio file is saved as a .sesx file and exported as a MP3 format as instructed 10 - Final audio file is submitted as a MP3 format with the instructed name for the project on time. This project is due on the date outlined in the syllabus. When you complete all work, work on the Xtra Credit projects. |
