P9 - Garageband/Premiere -Day In History Topical AdOct. 29, 2012 - Nov. 2, 2012
Audio/Video - Garageband/Premiere Essential Standard - 205.01 & 205.02 Essential Question: How do you create an audio advertisement to persuade an audience? Objective: Create a topical ad that will capture a target audience using GarageBand & Premiere. You have been hired by History.com, the online division of The History Channel, to produce a topical for their homepage. A topical ad is a form of media promotion designed to highlight specific content. The purpose of this topical ad is to get people to click on links to more content. Because they want to read about additional historical stories related to the video you produced they stay on history.com longer. If they stay on the site longer they are exposed to advertising that is on every page they click on. This in turn means more revenue for The History Channel. Your video should be about an historical event (WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Sept. 11th, A presidential inauguration, ect.) First, you will find audio clippings from websites or YouTube related to the historical event. These clippings will tell the story of the event you are advertising. You will also find music in GarageBand that is appropriate for your video. Edit this audio into a :30 - 1:00 long piece. Next you will find pictures and old newsreel video to edit to in Premiere, that matches the soundtrack you create in GrageBand. All photos should have the Ken Burns effect. All pictures should be appropriate to the historical event. No pixelated photos can be used. There should be no black borders around your photos. Last your video should have The History Channel logo in the bottom right corner the entire video. Also at the end of the video you should have text that encourages people to click one of the links on the page to read more about the historical event. This project is due on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 |
